Aunt Lucy's Memorial Service

Aunt Lucy (July 2010)

Julie's great aunt Lucy passed away in April. Her daughters, brothers, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends gathered on Mother's Day to celebrate her life.

All of Aunt Lucy's daughters and nieces and nephews, the Bishop cousins, were able to attend the memorial service. We got a nice photo of most of them, but a few had left already:

Baby Shilane - Due November 12, 2011

We're ecstatic to be starting our family! Here's Baby Shilane at 12 weeks + 6 days and crown-to-rump length of 66.4 mm (2.6 inches).

The ultrasound was pretty neat. We could see the baby move its arms and legs. We could even see it jumping. It would push off with its legs and then slide back down.

Phil's 33rd Birthday on May 3rd

For Phil's birthday, we cooked out on the grill, and the weather was nice enough that we were able to eat outside at our picnic table.

Rather than repeatedly requesting his favorite cake each year, Phil likes to try something new. This year: carrot cake. This was Julie's first attempt at making a carrot cake. It turned out pretty yummy!

Evan Moyer's 3rd Birthday Party

Visit From Aunt Pat And Clara

Julie's Aunt Pat and cousin Clara came to visit us. Clara enjoyed playing with our toys, on our piano, and outside.

Once again, we didn't take any photos, so these are borrowed from Aunt Pat.

Bishop Family Gathering

This year's family gathering was moved later in the spring so that the weather would be nicer for those traveling long distances. It was held on Anita's 40th birthday, but unfortunately, she and Evan weren't able to make it in from Idaho.

Jen called the following weekend to let us know she and Zak are expecting a baby the end of August. We're so happy for them!!

We also started telling family this weekend that we're expecting a baby in mid-November. Julie is 8 weeks pregnant in these photos and due November 12.

Cherry Blossom Festival

Over the weekend, we drove down to Washington, D.C. with Phil's mom to visit Phil's sister, Amy. The timing was perfect because it was the start of the Cherry Blossom Festival.

Leonardo da Vinci Exhibit

Phil's mom came to visit over her spring break. She and Phil visited the Leonardo da Vinci exhibit at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia.

The exhibit included numerous recreations of da Vinci's inventions.

Visit With The Moyer Family

We had a great time getting together with the Moyer family. Julie and Missy have been great friends since junior high school.

We've been bad lately about taking photos, but luckily Missy takes lots of photos.

After dinner, we played with Playdoh with Evan.

We also found out that Evan is really good at putting puzzles together!

Unfortunately, Addy napped most of the time that we were there, and we didn't take any photos while she was up. So we snagged a few photos of Addy from around this time from Missy's blog.
